About our Open Water Swimming

Swim in Serenity

Our Open Water Swimming is simply awesome. Set in the idyllic surrounds of Westmill Farm, and benefitting from one of the biggest lakes on site, it really is hard to beat.

We’re principally an Aqua Park, but this means that all of our swimmers have full access to our extensive, purpose built facilities and amenities. With a dedicated entry point to the water, swimmers can ensure complete separation from the other participants on site.

Our course is 350m long and marked with permanent buoys. It’s fully supervised by a specially trained Lifeguard and supported with both power boat and manual rescue boat cover.

Sessions for all.

New for 2023, we have introduced a broader range of session times in response to feedback from our swimmers, including the introduction of an Early Morning Swim. We hope that as a result, more people can find the time to come and experience the water and make Open Water Swimming more accessible.

Session Times for 2023

  • Wednesdays 17:30- 19:00

  • Thursdays 06:30-08:00 (New for 2023)

  • Saturday 08:00-09:30 and 17:15-18:45

  • Sunday 09:00-10:30 and 17:15-18:45

State of the Art Technology

Because who doesn't love a bit of tech? We use RFID tracking wristbands for all of our swimmers, making your check-ins and check-outs as painless as possible. Say goodbye to endless forms and delays- with one tap you’re signed in and ready to swim. Our receptionists will do all the heavy lifting whilst you focus on your session. And when you’re done, simply tap out and enjoy the rest of your day.

Purpose Built Facilities

We have built ourselves permanent covered changing rooms to maximise your comfort (because who wants to get changed in a Portacabin?) Toilets, fresh water showers and seating areas are all contained on site, so no need to go walking for miles just to rinse off.

We’re proud to have one of the cleanest lakes in Hertfordshire, and we regularly have our water Lab tested to standards well in excess of EU Bathing Standards, giving you peace of mind during your swim. We inspect the water at regular intervals during the day and regularly aerate it to prevent algae build up and weed pollution. Plus, our live temperature probes mean you can choose to ditch the wetsuit before you’ve even dipped a toe in.

After your swim, why not relax with a drink and recharge those batteries? Our fully stocked cafe serves hot and cold drinks, iced coffee, snacks and (new for 2023), MiniMelts™ Ice Cream.
